Thousands of people from diverse walks of life assembled in front of the National Press Club in Dhaka on Saturday morning to express solidarity with Palestine and protest the ongoing Israeli actions in Gaza. The event, titled ‘Mass Gathering for Palestine,’ was organized by Bangladesh Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat in response to what organizers describe as "Israeli atrocities" in Gaza.
Unable to secure permission to hold the event at Suhrawardy Udyan, the crowd began gathering at the Press Club from early morning. Participants, holding Palestinian flags and placards expressing support for Palestine, also took positions in nearby areas including Paltan and Baitul Mukarram. The placards carried messages condemning the violence in Gaza and calling for global action.
The gathering reflects growing public sentiment in Bangladesh against the conflict in Gaza, with organizers urging the international community to address the humanitarian crisis. Authorities maintained a visible presence to ensure the event proceeded peacefully.
