Dhaka, May 24, 2025: Amid growing political speculation and unease, Chief Adviser of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, is set to hold meetings with leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and Jamaat-e-Islami today, Saturday (May 24). The meetings are scheduled at 7:30 PM with BNP and 8:00 PM with Jamaat-e-Islami at the Chief Adviser’s official residence, ‘Jamuna’.
With BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir currently in Thailand for medical treatment, the BNP delegation will be led by Dr. Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, a senior member of the party’s standing committee. The invitation for the meeting was confirmed to the media on Friday night by Salahuddin Ahmed, another standing committee member of BNP.
On the other hand, Jamaat-e-Islami’s delegation will be led by its Ameer, Shafiqur Rahman. Syed Abdullah Mohammad Taher, the party’s Naib-e-Ameer, stated that they had requested a meeting with the Chief Adviser to discuss various issues. The Chief Adviser’s office confirmed the meeting time for Saturday night.
