Bollywood Actor Mukul Dev Passes Away

Saturday, May 24, 2025: Bollywood has lost another star. Popular actor Mukul Dev passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 54 in a Mumbai hospital. The news of his demise was confirmed today, May 24, 2025. According to Indian media reports, Mukul Dev had been unwell for several days and was admitted to the ICU. The exact cause of his death has not yet been disclosed.

Actor Bindu Dara Singh, who worked with Mukul Dev in the film Son of Sardaar, confirmed the news to India Today. Expressing his grief, he said, “It’s heartbreaking that we won’t see Mukul perform on the big screen anymore. After his parents’ demise, he had become reclusive, rarely stepping out or meeting anyone. His health deteriorated in the last few days, leading to his hospitalization. My condolences go out to his brother Rahul Dev and everyone who loved him. Mukul was an extraordinary person, and we will all miss him dearly.”
Mukul’s close friend and actress Deepshikha Nagpal paid tribute to him by sharing a picture with him on Instagram. She told India Today, “Mukul never spoke about his illness to anyone. We used to chat frequently in our friends’ WhatsApp group. This morning, I was shocked to hear about his death. I kept calling his number, hoping he might pick up.”
Mukul Dev made his Bollywood debut in 1996 with Dastak, starring alongside Sushmita Sen and Shruti Kapoor. Throughout his career, he appeared in several hit films, including Yamla Pagla Deewana, R... Rajkumar, Son of Sardaar, Jai Ho, and Don. Apart from Hindi cinema, he also worked in Punjabi, Telugu, Kannada, and Bengali films. He was the brother of well-known Indian actor Rahul Dev. His untimely passing has left his colleagues and fans in deep sorrow.
