International Desk, June 16, 2025 : Iran has issued a stern warning to the United States, stating that it will respond with harsher and more severe retaliatory measures if Israel’s regional aggression is not restrained. This was reported by Mehr News Agency on Monday, June 16.
In a phone call with Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian cautioned that Israel’s attacks, which violate international norms and have killed Iranian scientists, military commanders, and civilians, would not have been possible without U.S. support and approval.
Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran has no interest in developing nuclear weapons and is open to oversight by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). However, he warned that continued provocations by Israel would lead to a stronger response from Iran. He noted that adversaries have misjudged the strength and unity of the Iranian people, as even government critics have united in defense of the nation despite recent attacks.
Reaffirming Iran’s commitment to avoiding war and fostering respectful relations with neighboring and Muslim countries, Pezeshkian stressed that the U.S. must control Israel to prevent further regional instability. Failure to do so, he warned, would force Iran to take tougher and more painful measures.
While Iran supports dialogue based on justice and international principles, Pezeshkian made it clear that negotiations are not possible under threats and aggression. He reiterated Iran’s resolve to protect its rights and its reliance on the support of Muslim nations.
