One more person has died from dengue, a mosquito-borne disease, in the last 24 hours, while 249 others have been admitted to hospitals with dengue fever during the same period. This information was provided in a report sent by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services on Sunday (June 15).
According to the report, in the 24 hours until 8 AM on Sunday, the highest number of dengue patients, 134, were admitted to hospitals in the Barishal division. Additionally, 39 patients were admitted in Chattogram division, 9 in Dhaka division (outside city corporations), 8 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 35 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 8 in Khulna division, 5 in Rajshahi division, 7 in Mymensingh division, 3 in Rangpur division, and 1 in Sylhet division.
The Directorate General of Health Services emphasized the importance of eliminating mosquito breeding sites and raising public awareness to prevent dengue. Authorities have advised everyone to maintain cleanliness and protect themselves from mosquito bites.
