In Three Killed, Including Mother and Son, in Bus-CNG Collision in Gazipur’s Kapasia a tragic incident, a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG auto-rickshaw on the Dhaka-Kishoreganj regional highway in the Surya Narayanpur Palli Bidyut area of Kapasia, Gazipur, claimed three lives, including a mother and her son, on Tuesday (June 17) afternoon. Three others were injured in the accident.
The deceased have been identified as Ratna Akter (32), wife of Tanvir from Anwarpur Kajla village in Tarail upazila, Kishoreganj, her son Sayan (4), and Toufidul Islam (14), son of Abul Kalam from Kishtupur village in Itna upazila of the same district. All were passengers in the CNG auto-rickshaw.
According to locals, a CNG auto-rickshaw traveling from Kishoreganj collided with a bus named ‘Ananya Classic’ upon reaching the Surya Narayanpur Palli Bidyut area. The impact severely damaged the CNG vehicle, leaving it mangled. Two passengers died on the spot, while another succumbed to injuries while being transported to Dhaka. The injured are receiving treatment at a local hospital.
Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kapasia Model Police Station Joynal Abedin Mondal said the bus driver responsible for the accident could not be apprehended. Legal proceedings regarding the incident are underway.
