Chuadanga, June 17, 2025: A leader of the Youth League was arrested by police at the Darshana land port immigration checkpoint in Chuadanga while attempting to travel to India. The arrested individual, Yubayer Islam (59), is the general secretary of the Tanore Upazila Youth League in Rajshahi.
On Tuesday morning around 10:30 AM, during a passport scan at the Darshana immigration office, authorities discovered that Yubayer Islam had multiple cases filed against him at the Tanore police station. Darshana Immigration In-Charge Ramzan Ali confirmed that after verifying his identity, it was found that he was blacklisted. He was subsequently handed over to the Darshana police station.
Yubayer Islam stated that he is a cancer patient and was traveling to India for medical treatment. He claimed to have visited India six months ago for the same purpose and is currently out on bail for the cases filed against him.
Police sources confirmed that multiple cases are pending against him at the Tanore police station in Rajshahi.
