Naogaon, July 23, 2025: Police have recovered the bodies of a husband and wife from their home in Porsha, Naogaon. The bodies were found on Wednesday morning, July 23.
The incident occurred late Tuesday night in Shitli Dangapara village under Nitpur Union of Porsha Upazila. The body of Abdul Hai (60) was found hanging from a ceiling fan with a rope around his neck, while his wife, Momena Begum Felani (35), was found lying on the floor.
It is known that Momena was Abdul Hai’s second wife. Locals suspect that due to family disputes, Abdul Hai strangled his wife to death before taking his own life by hanging.
Porsha Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) Shah Alam Sardar stated that they recovered the bodies after receiving information. They believe that Abdul Hai killed his wife Felani by strangulation due to family disputes and later committed suicide by hanging himself from the fan’s hook. The bodies have been sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy. The exact cause of their deaths will be determined after the autopsy report. A general diary (GD) has been filed at the police station regarding the incident.
