Dhaka, July 23, 2025: Following a tragic incident where a Bangladesh Air Force fighter jet crashed at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka, Cultural Affairs Adviser and filmmaker Mostafa Sarwar Farooki criticized certain actors, actresses, and directors from the entertainment industry for spreading misinformation on social media. In a post on Tuesday night, Farooki urged people not to share misleading information that could further traumatize the public, stating, “The nation expects a bit more responsibility from artists.”
In response, young actor Arsh Khan took to social media, asserting that the nation also expects greater responsibility from advisers. Addressing Farooki, Khan wrote, “The nation expects a bit more responsibility from advisers too.” He defended artists who shared missing persons posts, noting that they are human, with families and children, and are trying to support people during a national crisis. Khan pointed out discrepancies between official information and the accounts of students and guardians, creating confusion. He urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and provide accurate information to prevent misinformation from causing further distress.
Khan’s post received significant reactions from fans and supporters, with many sharing it online. In another post, Khan stated, “All politicians seem like the opposition to me because I speak for the people.”
