The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) has arrested a Rohingya couple along with 7,100 pieces of Yaba in Chattogram.
The arrests were made on Tuesday (July 22) in the Bakalia Thana area of the city.
The detained individuals are Jafar Alam (35), son of the late Nur Alam from the Leda Rohingya Refugee Camp in Teknaf, and his wife Rahima Khatun (25).
Confirming the incident, DNC Chattogram Metro Deputy Director Humayun Kabir Khandkar stated that the couple was apprehended during an operation in the Basharuzzaman Chattar area under Bakalia Thana.
He added that the two, posing as husband and wife, were involved in smuggling Yaba. A case has been filed against them.
