Big Victory for Bangladesh U-19 Team Before the Final

The Bangladesh Under-19 cricket team secured a commanding victory ahead of the Tri-Nation Under-19s Tournament final, defeating hosts Zimbabwe Under-19 by 160 runs in Harare on Friday. This follows their earlier win against South Africa Under-19, boosting their confidence as they prepare to face the same team in the final on Sunday.

Despite losing the toss, Bangladesh batted first and posted 284/6 in 50 overs. After opener Zawad Abrar fell for 5 runs, Rifat Beg and captain Azizul Hakim built a crucial 112-run partnership. Azizul scored 34 off 65 balls, while Rifat made 77 off 78 balls, including 10 fours and a six, falling short of a century. Rizan Hossain (30) and Mohammad Abdullah (37) kept the momentum going, and a late 51-run seventh-wicket stand by Farid Hasan (38* off 44 balls) and Debasish Deba (34 off 13 balls, with two sixes and a four) propelled Bangladesh past 250. Zimbabwe’s Shelton Mazhitorera took 3 wickets for 70 runs.

In response, Zimbabwe were bundled out for 124 in 35 overs, with Bangladesh’s bowlers dominating from the start. Zimbabwe lost three wickets for 16 runs, and despite a 43-run partnership between Beni Juje (47 off 88 balls) and Marshal Mashava (16), they couldn’t recover. Mitchell Blignaut’s 30 off 34 balls was their only other notable contribution. Azizul Hakim and Rizan Hossain each claimed 3 wickets, while Al Amin took 2. Bangladesh now head into the final against South Africa with momentum, aiming to clinch the title. **Score Summary**: *Bangladesh*: 284/6 in 50 overs (Rifat 77, Farid 38*, Abdullah 37, Debasish 34*; Mazhitorera 3/70) *Zimbabwe*: 124 in 35 overs (Juje 47, Blignaut 30, Mashava 16; Rizan 3/9, Azizul 3/25, Al Amin 2/27)
*Result*: Bangladesh won by 160 runs
