Chief Adviser to Visit Malaysia on Three-Day Official Trip

At the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus will embark on a three-day official visit to Malaysia on Monday, August 11.

A bilateral meeting between the heads of government of the two countries is scheduled for Tuesday, August 12. On Sunday, August 10, Deputy Press Secretary to the Chief Adviser, Abul Kalam Azad Mazumdar, announced that details of the visit will be shared with the media at 3:00 PM at the Foreign Service Academy. A senior official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the discussions will cover ensuring fair and transparent recruitment of Bangladeshi workers, as well as expanding cooperation in energy, trade, higher education, halal food production, the blue economy, and addressing the Rohingya crisis. Several cooperation documents, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and Notes, are expected to be signed during the visit.
Foreign Affairs Adviser Md. Touhid Hossain, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul, Energy Adviser Fouzul Kabir Khan, and Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Chowdhury Ashiq Mahmud Bin Harun are likely to accompany the Chief Adviser. In addition to bilateral discussions, several other meetings are scheduled to take place.
