Dhaka Capitals Issue Statement on Spot-Fixing Controversy in Latest BPL

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has formed a three-member independent inquiry committee to investigate allegations of spot-fixing in the latest edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The committee is expected to submit its preliminary report to BCB President Aminul Islam within the next week. According to a report published in *Prothom Alo* yesterday, three BPL franchises, including Dhaka Capitals, have been named in connection with the allegations.

In response, Dhaka Capitals, a BPL franchise, released a special statement on their official Facebook page today. The statement read, “We have been in close communication with the BCB’s independent inquiry committee from the outset and have provided all the information requested by them. We are fully cooperating with the investigation process and will continue to do so in the future.”

Dhaka Capitals further clarified, “We have explicitly informed the inquiry committee that if any player or staff is found guilty, we will take the strictest possible action ourselves. However, directly implicating the management without evidence is deeply disrespectful to us and our partners.” The statement also noted, “Since spot-fixing is an individual matter, it is not possible for us to be aware of any cricketer’s involvement in advance. Dhaka Capitals has always worked for the development of cricket in the country and will continue to do so in the future. We believe in integrity, transparency, and fair play. We remain committed to nurturing young and talented cricketers. Insha’Allah, one day we will bring the joy of a BPL title to our supporters.”
