A food delivery boy stabbed a woman following a heated argument over a delay in delivering food, after which the police arrested the accused.
According to a report by Indian media outlet NDTV, the incident occurred on Thursday evening in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.
The injured woman, identified as Binodini Rath, works as a nurse at a private hospital in the city. She had ordered food online, but the delivery was significantly delayed. When the delivery boy, Tapan Das alias Mitu, arrived with the food, Binodini questioned him about the delay.
This led to a verbal altercation between the two. In a fit of rage, the delivery agent attacked Binodini with a sharp weapon, causing severe injuries to her neck, head, hands, and legs. Nearby residents quickly rescued her and admitted her to a local hospital.
The police apprehended the accused delivery boy at the scene and seized the sharp weapon used in the attack. A preliminary medical examination revealed that the delivery boy was under the influence of intoxicants during the assault. The incident has caused widespread panic in the area.
