Four Arrested with Arms in Joint Forces Operation in Old Dhaka

In a joint forces operation led by the Bangladesh Army in Old Dhaka, four individuals were arrested on Sunday (August 31). The operation took place at the residence of listed terrorist Alauddin in Shahid Hasan Ali Lane. Although Alauddin managed to flee, four suspects were apprehended during the raid.

The arrested individuals are Nazma Begum (45), Md. Sumon (27), Md. Shaon (28), and Md. Sagar (29). A subsequent search led to the recovery of one 9mm Beretta pistol, one .22 LR pistol, five rounds of ammunition, four locally-made machetes, two Chinese axes, four locally-made knives, and one box of bomb-making splinters.

Additionally, three passports, four mobile phones, four national identity cards, and two driving licenses were seized during the operation. The arrested individuals were later handed over to the police station for necessary interrogation.
The Bangladesh Army confirmed these details on its verified official Facebook page, stating that the army is committed to maintaining peace and order in the country. It further emphasized that such operations against illegal arms, explosives, or terrorist activities will continue.
