Gazipur Journalist's Murder Linked to 'Honeytrap': Police Hunt for Woman Named Golapi

In a shocking incident, Gazipur journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin was brutally murdered in a public attack on Thursday night, August 7, 2025, at Chandana Chowrasta’s Eidgah Market area. The killing is believed to have stemmed from a 'honeytrap' operation, where Tuhin was targeted for recording a video of an assault linked to a woman named Golapi, who is now a key suspect being pursued by the police.

According to police and local sources, the incident began when Golapi allegedly lured a man named Badsha Mia into a trap. Armed youths accompanying her attacked Badsha with machetes, and Tuhin, who was nearby, recorded the incident on his mobile phone. Enraged by his actions, the attackers chased Tuhin, who sought refuge in a tea stall owned by Ruhul Amin at the Eidgah Market. However, the assailants followed him, attacking him with sharp weapons, slashing his chest, throat, shoulders, and back, leading to his death on the spot. CCTV footage captured the sequence, showing Golapi and assailants, including Faisal alias Ketu Mizan, Shah Jamal, Bullet, and Sujon, who have been identified as members of an organized robbery gang active in Basan, Bhogra, and Chandana Chowrasta areas.
