The government has constituted an eight-member committee to evaluate the legitimacy of demands raised by BSc degree-holding engineers and to formulate recommendations. The committee is chaired by Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges.

The committee members include Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Industries and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works; Professor Dr. Chowdhury Rafiqul Abrar, Education Advisor; Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change; Engineer Mohammad Rezaul Islam, President of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh; Engineer Md. Kabir Hossain, President of the Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh; Professor Dr. Engineer Tanvir Manzur, Chairman of the Bangladesh Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education; and Kazi Muhammad Mozammel Haque, Additional Secretary (SOP) of the Ministry of Public Administration.

The committee will scrutinize the demands of BSc degree-holding engineers and submit recommendations to the government. Meanwhile, around 11:30 AM, engineering university students staged a protest at Shahbagh intersection in the capital. At around 1:45 PM, as they attempted to march toward the Yamuna Bhaban near Hotel InterContinental, police intervened to stop them. This led to a chase and counter-chase between the students and the police. To control the situation, police fired tear gas and sound grenades, causing the students to disperse. The tense situation disrupted traffic in the Shahbagh area for an extended period.
