GPT-5 Model for ChatGPT: A Smarter, Safer, and More Advanced AI

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, has announced that its new GPT-5 model is significantly more powerful, intelligent, and secure compared to previous versions. The company claims that GPT-5 offers PhD-level proficiency. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman described the model as the dawn of a new era for ChatGPT, emphasizing its enhanced intelligence, speed, and efficiency.

The GPT-5 model has already created a buzz in the tech world. Experts highlight its improved ability to detect misinformation as a key advancement. It also boasts superior communication capabilities compared to earlier models. According to OpenAI, GPT-5 is available in three versions: GPT-5, GPT-5 Mini, and GPT-5 Nano. Users can access GPT-5 and GPT-5 Mini for free, while the GPT-5 Pro version requires a subscription costing $200 per month. The model is integrated into all OpenAI services, supporting tasks like reasoning, image generation, web browsing, and voice mode.

OpenAI claims that GPT-5 demonstrates PhD-level expertise in coding and writing. It has outperformed all previous models in coding tasks, excelling in logical reasoning and error resolution. Notably, GPT-5 can create an interactive app from a text prompt in under a minute. Previous GPT versions faced criticism for generating incorrect information, known as "hallucinations." OpenAI asserts that GPT-5 significantly reduces this issue, with a 65% lower error rate compared to the o3 model and 26% lower than GPT-4o. The model underwent over 5,000 hours of testing by external experts to enhance its reliability and stability, ensuring it avoids speculative answers when uncertain.
Microsoft has announced plans to integrate GPT-5 into its services, and Google is expected to support the model in its platforms soon. The GPT-5 Pro version enables direct use of services like Gmail, Google Search, and Calendar, with OpenAI planning to extend these features to other versions in the future.
