In a recent audio message, Goldi Dhillon, a key member of the Bishnoi gang, claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that the gunfire at Kapil’s café was due to his close association with Salman Khan. He further warned that the next time, they would “shoot straight in the chest.”
Following the incident, security has been tightened at Kapil Sharma’s Mumbai residence and his Canada-based café. Mumbai Police are thoroughly reviewing CCTV footage to investigate the matter.
After Salman Khan, rapper Badshah has also reportedly become a target of the Bishnoi gang. A section of the Hindi film industry is naturally outraged over such threats and attempts to control the movements of Bollywood stars. In response, the India Cine Workers Association has taken significant steps to address the issue.
The association claims that recent attacks on Salman Khan, Baba Siddiqui, and Saif Ali Khan indicate a larger conspiracy. Fearing who might be targeted next, the industry is in a state of panic. The organization has made a special appeal to India’s Home Minister, Amit Shah, urging him to discuss the matter with the Canadian Prime Minister to ensure the safety of Indian celebrities abroad. They argue that these incidents are putting the livelihoods of thousands of people in the film industry at risk.
Notably, Kapil Sharma had opened a café in Canada as part of his business ventures. However, within a week of its inauguration, threats began to surface. On July 9, around 1 a.m., the café was attacked with gunfire for the first time. Less than a month later, a second attack occurred on Thursday night, with Indian media reporting that at least 25 rounds of bullets were fired, though no casualties were reported.
