Police have recovered the body of an American citizen named Jackson (50) from Hotel Westin in Gulshan, Dhaka. Initial assumptions suggest that his death occurred naturally.
On Sunday (August 31, 2025) night, Hafizur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Gulshan Police Station, confirmed the incident.
According to OC Hafizur Rahman, Jackson had rented a room at Hotel Westin on August 27 through the US Embassy in Dhaka. When he did not order any food for the past two days, the hotel authorities grew suspicious and informed both the US Embassy and the police. Subsequently, a team from the embassy, accompanied by a medical team, and a police team arrived at the scene. They found Jackson lying dead on the bed.
Hafizur Rahman added, “As the death appeared to be natural, the embassy authorities submitted a written request to us and took custody of the body. We have initially learned that Jackson had come to Bangladesh for business purposes.”
