Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Presents Credentials

Seoul, September 2, 2025: Bangladesh’s Ambassador to South Korea, Tofiq Islam Shatil, presented his credentials to South Korean President Lee Jae-myung on Tuesday, September 2, at the Presidential Office in Seoul.

Following the presentation of credentials, Ambassador Shatil held a courtesy meeting with President Lee. During the meeting, he conveyed greetings from Bangladesh’s President and Chief Adviser, which the South Korean President warmly received.
The ambassador highlighted that South Korea is an important friend and development partner of Bangladesh. He expressed his commitment to working towards deepening the bilateral relationship between the two nations. Shatil also conveyed Bangladesh’s gratitude for South Korea’s continued humanitarian support for the forcibly displaced Rohingya refugees. He praised President Lee’s stated goal of strengthening ties with southern countries. President Lee welcomed the ambassador and emphasized the importance of exploring ways to further strengthen the relationship between South Korea and Bangladesh. The ambassador extended an invitation to the President to visit Bangladesh at a mutually convenient time.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassador Tofiq Islam Shatil and his spouse, Kazi Sayma Haque.
