Madrasa Student Huzaifa Kidnapped Using Chocolate and Mobile Game Lure

The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-10) has rescued a 12-year-old madrasa student, abducted from Kadamtali in Dhaka, in a healthy condition from Narayanganj. The kidnapper, Mokhlesur Rahman Raju (29), has been arrested in connection with the incident. RAB stated that the child was lured with promises of mobile games, chocolates, and outings.

During a press conference held on Friday (September 5) at RAB-10’s CPC-1 camp in Jatrabari, Acting Company Commander SM Hasan Siddiqui Sumon shared these details.

He said that on September 1, around 4:30 PM, Mahadi Hasan Huzaifa went missing from the Saddam Market area in Kadamtali. The next morning, an unknown number called the child’s father, demanding a hefty ransom. The kidnappers initially extorted 40,000 taka from the family. With the assistance of RAB headquarters’ intelligence wing, a 17-hour operation led to the rescue of the child from a rented house in Narayanganj’s Siddhirganj Ati Wapda Colony, where he was being held. The kidnapper, Raju, was arrested during the operation. SM Hasan Siddiqui Sumon further stated that Raju enticed the child with mobile games, chocolates, and promises of outings to carry out the kidnapping. The child was later moved to multiple locations to increase pressure on the family while the kidnapper attempted to extort more ransom. The child gradually realized he was being held captive and became frightened. Investigations are ongoing to determine if others were involved in the kidnapping. The rescued child and the arrested suspect have been handed over to the relevant police station for further legal action.
In response to journalists’ questions about RAB’s arms recovery operations ahead of the upcoming election, the Acting Company Commander said that RAB’s routine operations to recover arms are ongoing.
