The Bangladesh Police has undertaken a special initiative to maintain law and order and ensure a free, fair, and peaceful national election. As part of this program, over 150,000 police personnel are being provided with specialized training. Government officials confirmed this information on Friday (September 5, 2025).
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Kazi Zia Uddin, stated, “To ensure a free, fair, neutral, and peaceful national election, we will provide all necessary training to over 150,000 police personnel.” He expressed optimism that the upcoming election will be a milestone in the country’s history. The training program has been meticulously designed, with the Human Resources (HR) Development Division of Police Headquarters developing nine training modules over the past three months, in consultation with election experts and legal advisors. The course, designed under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) and Additional IGP (HR), aims to prepare police personnel to effectively handle any law and order situation during the election.
A key aspect of the training is practical drills. Police Headquarters officials stated that trainers will undergo hands-on training through realistic drills to prepare for potential election-time scenarios, providing them with practical experience. The formal inauguration of this training program is scheduled to take place at Rajarbag Police Lines by the end of next week. Through this extensive training, Bangladesh Police is considered fully prepared to ensure comprehensive security during the election period.
