A devastating explosion caused by a gas leakage occurred in Gazipur’s Gacha Thana, Hariken area, leaving three members of the same family critically injured.
The incident took place on Tuesday morning (April 15). The victims—garment worker Haris Mia (50), his wife Ayesha Akhter (40), and their son Moinul Islam (12)—suffered severe burns ranging from 85% to 90% of their bodies. Doctors have stated that their condition remains critical.
Family members reported that gas had accumulated in the kitchen overnight without their knowledge. As Ayesha attempted to light the stove in the morning, the explosion occurred. They were immediately rushed to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, where they are currently under intensive care.
