Five Israeli Soldiers Killed in Ambush Attack in Gaza

In a surprise attack by Palestinian militant groups in Khan Younis, Gaza, five Israeli soldiers were killed, and at least 15 others were injured, with several in critical condition. Some soldiers remain missing following the assault, according to Israeli media reports.
The attack occurred on Tuesday, June 24, when Palestinian armed groups targeted Israeli forces, as reported by the Palestine Chronicle. In response, Israeli forces launched intense counterstrikes to rescue the wounded.
The Palestinian fighters executed the ambush in two phases. Initially, they attacked the soldiers stationed in the area. A second wave of attacks targeted the rescue team, hitting Israeli military vehicles, including an armored vehicle that caught fire.
The injured soldiers were airlifted to Tel Hashomer Hospital in Tel Aviv, and their families have been notified.
In recent days, Palestinian groups have intensified attacks on Israeli forces in northern and southern Gaza, escalating tensions in the region.
