Tangail, June 10, 2025: After the Eid holidays, working people have started returning to the capital, Dhaka. To avoid potential hassles, many are heading back before the official holidays end. This has led to an increase in the number of vehicles on the Dhaka-Tangail-Yamuna Bridge highway. However, with no traffic congestion, commuters are reaching their destinations smoothly.
On Tuesday (June 10), observations at various points along the highway revealed that, alongside public transport, many are traveling to Dhaka in private vehicles. The highway remains relatively clear, ensuring a hassle-free journey for commuters.
According to the Yamuna Bridge authorities, over the past 24 hours, 23,803 vehicles crossed the bridge, generating a toll revenue of BDT 14.92 million. Of these, 12,059 vehicles were heading toward northern districts, contributing BDT 7.56 million in tolls, while 11,744 vehicles heading to Dhaka contributed BDT 7.35 million.
Tangail’s Superintendent of Police, Mizanur Rahman, stated that police personnel are working tirelessly to maintain smooth traffic flow. “People traveling to Dhaka are reaching their destinations without any obstacles,” he said.
