International Desk, June 16, 2025 : A senior Iranian military official has claimed that Pakistan has assured it will launch a nuclear attack on Israel if the latter uses nuclear weapons against Iran. General Mohsen Rezaei of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard made this statement, according to a report by NDTV.
General Rezaei stated, “Pakistan has assured us that if Israel drops a nuclear bomb on Iran, they will retaliate with a nuclear attack on Israel.” He further noted that Pakistan has pledged to stand by Iran and called for unity among Muslim nations.
Despite strained relations earlier in 2024 due to tit-for-tat missile strikes, Iran and Pakistan appear to have strengthened their ties recently. Rezaei also claimed that Iran possesses undisclosed military capabilities yet to be revealed.
While Pakistan has not officially commented on the use of nuclear weapons, it has expressed support for Iran against Israel. According to the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, both Israel and Pakistan are among the nine nuclear-armed nations in the world.
Many question the feasibility of such assurances, viewing them as diplomatic posturing rather than a commitment to direct military action.
Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump said he is working to broker peace between Israel and Iran. However, he issued a stern warning, stating, “If Iran attacks the United States, our military will respond with a force never seen before.”
Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif remarked, “The West should be concerned about Israel’s nuclear arsenal. Their support for Israel risks destabilizing not only the region but the entire world. Israel is a ‘rogue state’ whose actions could set the region ablaze.”
