Cattle and Smuggled Goods Worth Over Tk 1 Crore Seized in Feni

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized smuggled goods worth approximately Tk 1 crore 1 lakh 28 thousand in separate operations conducted along the borders of Parshuram and Chhagalnaiya in Feni.

The operations took place in the early hours of Wednesday (July 2) in the border areas of Parshuram and Chhagalnaiya upazilas. However, no one was detained in connection with these incidents.

According to the BGB, the operations were carried out based on confidential information. The seized items, brought into the country illegally, included a large number of cartons filled with mobile phone displays and several cattle. Sensing the presence of BGB personnel, the smugglers fled, leaving the goods behind. The seized items, with an estimated market value of Tk 1 crore 1 lakh 28 thousand, were confiscated during the operations.

Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain, the commanding officer of the Feni Battalion (4 BGB), stated that the BGB continues its efforts to ensure border security and curb smuggling activities. The process of handing over the seized smuggled goods to the customs authorities is underway.
