Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, has directed the implementation of e-learning programs in 100 schools in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) within this year. However, officials have highlighted challenges such as electricity shortages, lack of internet connectivity, and a shortage of skilled teachers in the remote areas of the CHT.
The directive was issued during a meeting held on Wednesday at the state guest house Yamuna. The meeting was attended by CHT Adviser Supradip Chakma, Liberation War and Disaster Management Adviser Faruk-e-Azam, Food and Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder, Chief Secretary to the Chief Adviser Siraj Uddin Miah, and officials from the Primary and Secondary Education Division.
During the meeting, the CHT Adviser briefed Dr. Yunus on improving livelihoods and environmental conservation in three CHT upazilas. The Chief Adviser instructed coordination with relevant ministries to formulate plans in this regard.
