In Dhaka’s Mohammadpur, two youths named Md. Foysal (25) and Johurul Islam (27) were injured in a stabbing incident by robbers in Dhaka Udyan. Both victims work at a buying house.
The incident occurred around 9:45 PM on Monday. The two were seriously injured and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Hasnain Islam, a colleague who accompanied them to the hospital, said that while heading toward their residence in Block D of Dhaka Udyan’s Road No. 2, a group of 4-5 robbers surrounded them. When the robbers attempted to take their mobiles and money, the victims resisted and shouted for help. The robbers then stabbed them randomly before fleeing. Foysal is currently admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, while Johurul has been discharged after receiving treatment.
Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the Dhaka Medical College Hospital police camp, confirmed that two youths were brought to the hospital from Mohammadpur in an injured state on Monday night. They reported being stabbed by robbers. The matter has been reported to the local police station.
However, Sub-Inspector (SI) Jewel, in-charge of the Dhaka Udyan beat under Mohammadpur Police Station, stated that he was unaware of the incident.
