Court Orders Withdrawal of Case Against GM Quader

The court has ordered the withdrawal of a case filed against Jatiya Party (JaPa) Chairman Golam Mohammad Quader (GM Quader) and Joint Office Secretary Mahmud Alam.

On Tuesday, Dhaka’s Sixth Joint District Judge Robayet Ferdous issued the order. This was confirmed that the court’s bench assistant, Adnan Ahmed.

Adnan Ahmed told that the plaintiff had submitted an application to withdraw the case, which the court accepted. On July 30, Dhaka’s First Joint District Judge had imposed a temporary injunction on GM Quader and Mahmud Alam, barring them from participating in any organizational activities of the Jatiya Party. The court had referenced a writ petition pending in the High Court Division regarding the leadership dispute within the party. The court noted that the case was under consideration in the High Court and deemed it inappropriate for any party to make organizational decisions or conduct activities during this period.
Following the court’s observation, leaders opposing GM Quader stated that any organizational actions taken by him, including the recent dismissal of 11 party leaders such as Senior Co-Chairman Anisul Islam Mahmud, Co-Chairman ABM Ruhul Amin Howlader, and Secretary General Mujibul Haque Chunnu, were legally invalid. As a result, these leaders remain in their positions.
