Flight Expert Allegedly Flees Bangladesh with Hundreds of Crores of Taka

Flight Expert, a major online platform for booking flight tickets in Bangladesh, has been accused of absconding with hundreds of crores of taka. Reports indicate that numerous agencies had invested substantial amounts in the company.

As of Saturday, August 2, 2025, the Flight Expert website is inaccessible. The company’s official Facebook page last posted about Hajj, announcing the start of registrations for Hajj 2026 with discounted package prices. In a post on a Facebook group named *Holiday Travelers of Bangladesh*, a user warned, “Those who booked tickets through Flight Expert but haven’t traveled yet, please check the current status of your tickets. I always say, don’t chase low prices—look for quality and reliable service. All services of Flight Expert have been shut down.”

Mamunur Rashid, an employee from Flight Expert’s sales department, told journalists, “Our owner fled the country on Friday night, August 1.” Flight Expert began operations in Bangladesh in March 2017 with a launch event introducing its platform. It quickly rose to prominence in the country’s online travel industry, capturing a significant share of the flight ticketing market. The company offered a range of services, including booking domestic and international airline tickets, hotel reservations, tour packages, and visa processing. Its popularity stemmed from providing affordable flight tickets with a user-friendly booking process.
