Stage Set for Mass Uprising Day Celebration, Security Tightened

To commemorate the anniversary of the July Mass Uprising, a day-long event has been organized today, Tuesday (August 5), at Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka. Preparations for the main stage, sound, and lighting systems for the "July Renaissance Event Series" have been completed. Additionally, security has been significantly strengthened at the event venue and surrounding areas.

Since Monday night, law enforcement agencies have implemented maximum security measures at Manik Mia Avenue. High-capacity CCTV cameras and intelligence surveillance have been deployed. Deputy Commissioner of Tejgaon Division, Ibne Mizan, and RAB-2 Commander Additional DIG Khalidul Haque Hawladar stated that a sufficient number of police and RAB personnel will be stationed in both uniform and plainclothes.

The event will feature cultural performances, a drone show, and a declaration reading. Musical performances by various artist groups will begin at 11 AM. At 5 PM, Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will deliver the July Declaration at the South Plaza of the National Parliament, which will be broadcast live on Bangladesh Television. A special drone show is scheduled for 7:30 PM, followed by a band performance at 8 PM. Sound engineer Shamim Ahmed reported that a waterproof sound system has been installed, keeping potential rain in mind. A public notice signed by DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali stated that due to the large gathering, vehicle movement will be restricted around the National Parliament area and Manik Mia Avenue.
