Tamim Not Thinking About BCB Presidency Now

Preparations for the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) election, scheduled for early October, are nearly complete. On Saturday (September 6), the BCB formed a three-member election commission to oversee the entire electoral process. However, the focal point of discussions surrounding the election has been whether former national team captain Tamim Iqbal would participate. Tamim has finally confirmed that he will contest for a director's post in the club category.

Many speculated that if Tamim entered the election, he might aim for the presidency. However, Tamim has made it clear that his sole focus is to secure a director’s position for now.

**Tamim Not Considering BCB Presidency at the Moment** **Tamim Calls for Bulbul’s Resignation Before BCB Election** In a conversation with a local media outlet, Tamim stated, “The first step is to become a director. If the councilors vote for you, you become a director. Only then can you think about or plan for the presidency. For now, my focus is solely on the election and taking on responsibilities as a director.” In the upcoming BCB election, Bangladesh’s first Test centurion, Aminul Islam Bulbul, will contest for the presidency. Naturally, when prominent cricketers like Tamim participate in the election, many assume they might be eyeing the president’s post. However, Tamim has clarified that his goal is to get elected as a director and contribute to the development of cricket through the BCB. Tamim Iqbal’s participation in the October election for the club category is not just about winning a post but is seen as a significant step toward strengthening the future of cricket in Bangladesh.
