Dhaka, April 27, 2025
The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) of Bangladesh has initiated an intelligence investigation into allegations of corruption involving the former Assistant Private Secretary (APS) and Personal Officer (PO) of two advisers to the interim government.
In a press conference on Sunday, April 27, ACC Director General Aktar Hossain announced that the commission had begun intelligence operations following media reports implicating the two former officials. The individuals under scrutiny are Moyazzem Hossain, former APS to Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, and Tuhin Farabi, former PO to the Health Adviser.
Earlier that day, the Bangladesh Youth Rights Council staged a protest in front of the National Press Club, condemning the alleged involvement of Moyazzem Hossain and Tuhin Farabi in a multi-billion-taka influence-peddling scheme. The group later marched to the ACC’s Segunbagicha office, where they held another demonstration.
A six-member delegation from the organization, led by its president and general secretary, met with ACC Chairman Abdul Momen and issued a 15-day ultimatum for the investigation and arrest of the accused.
