India does not want to engage in a trade war with Bangladesh

India does not want to engage in a trade war with Bangladesh. According to a report by *The Times of India*, despite strained trade relations, India is not looking to retaliate. The Indian government recently revoked the transshipment facility for Bangladesh, but assured that this would not affect Bangladesh’s trade with Nepal and Bhutan.

Bangladesh’s interim government had earlier decided to close three land ports and suspend yarn imports from India. Indian authorities believe these actions could disrupt bilateral trade.

Additionally, Bangladesh has resumed direct trade with Pakistan, importing 50,000 tons of rice in February.
