Korea Provides BDT 76 Crore Loan Under Supplementary Agreement


Dhaka: Government of Bangladesh has signed a supplementary loan agreement with South Korea, under which the Korean government will provide a loan of Tk 76 crore. 

This loan will fund the Global Maritime Distress Signal and Security System and Integrated Navigation System Establishment" project.

The agreement was signed between the Economic Relations Division (ERD) of Bangladesh and the Korea Exim Bank, with Ms. Mirana Mahruq, 

Additional Secretary of ERD, signing on behalf of Bangladesh, and Mr. Kim Kisang, Director General of Korea Exim Bank, signing for Korea. The project will be implemented under the Ministry of Shipping’s Directorate of Shipping.

The objective of this project is to establish seven lighthouses and coastal radio stations in coastal areas, set up a command and control center in Dhaka, ensurecontinuous communication with operating vessels, and modernize existing lighthouses.
