A young man has been arrested by the police for allegedly extorting money from parking areas in front of Ibn Sina Hospital in Jigatola, Dhaka. The arrested individual has been identified as Ashraful Islam.
The incident gained public attention when, on April 13, a person named Enayet Hossain uploaded a video on his Facebook profile showing Ashraful stopping a private car and demanding money. The video also shows him threatening the victims.
As the video went viral, concerned citizens and law enforcement officials took notice. Subsequently, on the night of April 15, the police from Dhanmondi Police Station apprehended Ashraful. Authorities have confirmed that legal proceedings are underway against him.
