Cumilla, May 31, 2025: Colonel M Anwarul Azim, former Member of Parliament from Laksham-Monoharganj in Cumilla and a veteran leader of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), passed away (Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Raji’un) in the early hours of Saturday, May 31, at Evercare Hospital in the capital. He leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter, and numerous admirers and well-wishers.
According to family sources, the funeral prayers (janaza) for the deceased will be held at 10:30 AM at the New DOHS Central Mosque in Dhaka, at 12:00 PM in front of the BNP central office in Nayapaltan, after Asr prayers at Laksham Government Pilot High School ground, after Maghrib prayers at Monoharganj School and College ground, and after Isha prayers at his ancestral home in Sharifpur.
