London, June 11, 2025: Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh’s interim government, has stated that the upcoming election will be the most beautiful in the country’s history. He made this remark during an interview at the Royal Institute of International Affairs at Chatham House in London on Wednesday.
Dr. Yunus said, “After 17 years, we are going to hold a true election, which will be the most beautiful election in our history.” He highlighted that various reform commissions have been formed to build a new Bangladesh. Commissions have been established for each institution, and the government is awaiting their recommendations. He emphasized that their primary goal is to create a consensus among all political parties.
The Chief Adviser also announced that a charter, referred to as the ‘July Charter,’ will be presented to the nation in July. Additionally, he outlined several initiatives of his government, noting that services such as passport issuance are now provided online, reducing opportunities for corruption. Previously, accessing such services required intermediaries, which often led to corrupt practices.
In response to a question during the event, Dr. Yunus clarified that he has no intention of holding any position in the elected government following the election. He expressed hope that a free, fair, and impartial election will be held with the participation of all political parties.
