Dhaka, June 25, 2025: The body of a lawyer named Selim Jahan (45) was recovered from a room at the ‘Osmani International’ residential hotel in the Joykali Temple area of Wari, Dhaka, early Wednesday morning.
According to police, upon receiving information from the hotel authorities, officers from Wari Police Station broke open the door of Room No. 414 and found Selim Jahan lying dead on the bathroom floor. The body was later sent to the morgue at Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital for an autopsy.
Selim Jahan, a resident of Chhoto Sandeep village in Palong Upazila, Shariatpur district, was the son of Abdur Razzak. He was a practicing lawyer by profession.
Wari Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Foysal Islam stated that some medical documents found in the room indicated that Selim was suffering from liver cirrhosis. He had arrived in Dhaka on June 21 and rented the hotel room for medical treatment purposes.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Selim may have died due to excessive bleeding after a fall in the bathroom. His relatives arrived at the hotel and identified the body, which was sent to DMC morgue for further examination.
