Naked Body of Woman Found in Rented Flat in Faridpur, Child Found Unconscious, Partner Missing

Faridpur, June 11, 2025: Police recovered the naked body of a woman named Rina Begum (30) from a rented flat in the Raghunandanpur area of Faridpur city. Her five-year-old daughter was found unconscious in the same room. Rina’s partner, Monirul Islam (40), has been missing since the incident.

On Tuesday (June 10) at around 12:30 PM, acting on suspicion raised by locals, police broke open the door of a room on the ground floor of Habib Villa and recovered the body, which was sent to the morgue at Faridpur Medical College Hospital. Eyewitnesses reported that Rina’s body was found near the bathroom, while her unconscious child was on a bed in the adjacent room. Scattered medicines and food plates were found inside the room, which was locked from the inside.
Habibur Rahman, the owner of Habib Villa, said that at the beginning of this month, Monirul Islam rented the flat, introducing Rina as his wife. “It wasn’t even a week. After hearing about the incident, I tried calling Monirul, but his phone was switched off,” he added.
Rina Begum was the daughter of Mannan Byapari from Ambikapur Union in Faridpur Sadar Upazila. According to her relatives, her husband, Shahid Molla, has been living in Saudi Arabia for a long time. Six months ago, Rina and Shahid separated, after which she became involved with Monirul Islam. Rina’s uncle, Abdus Salam Byapari, said, “After their marriage, Shahid took Rina to Saudi Arabia. She later returned to Bangladesh and got involved with Monirul.” However, a local neighbor claimed that Rina and Shahid had not yet legally separated.
Faridpur Kotwali Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Asaduzzaman told Kalbela, “A woman’s naked body and her unconscious daughter were recovered from a locked room. The exact cause of death will be determined after the autopsy report. The police are investigating, and legal action will be taken.”
