Dhaka, June 08, 2025 : In response to a recent surge in COVID-19 infections, the Ministry of Railways has requested passengers to adhere to health protocols and wear masks during the return journey following Eid-ul-Adha. The directive comes as part of heightened efforts to ensure public safety during the festive season's travel rush.
According to sources, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has urged the public to wear masks in crowded areas, with special emphasis on elderly and unwell individuals to avoid such places. In line with this advisory, the Railway Ministry has appealed to all passengers traveling on trains post-Eid to comply with health guidelines and wear masks to mitigate the risk of infection.
It may be noted that Bangladesh first detected cases of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in early 2020, leading to multiple waves of infections and public health crises. The government enforced measures such as mandatory mask-wearing, maintaining social distancing, and avoiding large gatherings. While these restrictions were relaxed as infection rates declined, the recent uptick in cases has prompted renewed calls for adherence to health protocols to ensure safety.
