Khulna, June 10, 2025: A motorcycle convoy led by former Khulna district BNP president Amir Ezaz Khan has been accused of vandalizing the toll plaza at Rupsa Bridge. The incident occurred on Monday (June 9) afternoon, and a general diary (GD) was filed at Rupsa Police Station on Tuesday by the toll plaza’s assistant worker, Mir Abdul Jabbar.
According to the GD, around 4:00 PM on Monday, a convoy of 40-45 motorcycles passed through the Rupsa Bridge toll plaza. During this time, the automatic signal bar at the toll plaza struck one of the motorcyclists, leading to a commotion. Some members of the convoy reportedly kicked and shattered the glass of toll booth number 8, attempting to enter the booth.
CCTV footage revealed that a BNP activist wearing a Panjabi kicked and broke the glass of booth number 8. Several others in the convoy were also seen acting aggressively. It is reported that Amir Ezaz Khan was heading to his home in Amirpur, Batiaghata, when the incident occurred on his way back to Khulna city via the Jabusa area.
Rupsa Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Mahfuzur Rahman stated that the incident took place when the signal bar fell on a motorcyclist, sparking agitation. One individual then vandalized the toll plaza by kicking the glass. A GD has been filed, and legal action is underway.
Efforts to contact Amir Ezaz Khan for comments were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or messages.
