June 9, 2025I : n line with former US President Donald Trump’s announced policy, the Trump administration continues to deport undocumented Bangladeshi migrants residing in the United States in phases. On Sunday, June 8, 2025, an additional 42 Bangladeshi nationals were repatriated to Bangladesh.
Multiple diplomatic sources in Dhaka confirmed to Kalabela that the US administration is actively deporting undocumented citizens from Bangladesh, alongside those from other countries. As part of this initiative, a special flight (OAE-3331) carrying 42 undocumented Bangladeshi migrants landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at 3:30 PM on Sunday.
According to sources, 24 of the returnees had complete documentation, allowing their immigration processing to be finalized by 6:30 PM, after which they were able to return home. However, the remaining 18 individuals lacked necessary paperwork, requiring discussions between the US Embassy and Bangladesh Immigration Police. After filing a General Diary (GD), their immigration procedures were completed, and they left the airport after 10:00 PM.
Notably, since Trump’s tenure, several groups of Bangladeshi migrants have been deported in phases. Most recently, the US sent back five undocumented migrants to Dhaka on a special Griffin Air flight (GRP-26).
