Andy Byron, the founder and CEO of Astronomer, a leading US software company, has found himself embroiled in a scandal after being caught in a compromising situation with a colleague at a music concert. The incident, which went viral on social media, has led to his indefinite leave of absence from the company and sparked speculation about his marriage.
Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan, has reportedly removed his surname from her name on social media, fueling rumors of a possible divorce. In the wake of Byron’s absence, Astronomer’s co-founder and Chief Product Officer, Peter D’Joy, has been appointed as the interim CEO. The company confirmed this development in a statement posted on X on Friday, July 19, 2025.
The statement read: “Astronomer’s founder and CEO, Andy Byron, is currently on a leave of absence. In his absence, co-founder Peter D’Joy is serving as the interim CEO. This decision was made in consultation with Mr. Byron. We will provide further details in the coming days.”

The controversy unfolded at a Coldplay concert in Boston on July 16, 2025, where Byron was spotted in an intimate moment with Astronomer’s Head of Human Resources, Christine Cabot. A video capturing the moment went viral, showing Byron quickly pulling away from Cabot upon realizing they were on camera, while Cabot covered her face in embarrassment.
Byron is married to Megan Kerrigan, with whom he resides in New York. Cabot, who is divorced since 2022 and a mother of one, was seated next to Byron at the concert. According to the New York Post, citing an X user, Megan Kerrigan removed “Byron” from her name on Facebook following the incident, intensifying speculation about their marriage.
During the performance, Coldplay’s lead singer, Chris Martin, commented from the stage, “Look at them, what a beautiful moment!” However, noticing their awkward reaction, he added, “Oh, what’s going on? They’re either in a relationship or just really shy.” He further remarked, “Okay, we didn’t do anything bad, did we?”
Astronomer, Byron’s company, specializes in AI and data solutions and has a market valuation of approximately $1.2 billion.
