Child's Body Found in Jute Field Five Days After Going Missing in Kishoreganj

Police in Kishoreganj have recovered the body of a six-year-old girl, Roja Moni, from a jute field five days after she went missing.

On Friday (July 11) morning, the partially decomposed body was found in a jute field owned by Bacchu Miya, located behind the girl’s home. Roja Moni was the daughter of Mohammad Sumon Miya, a resident of Charmaria village in Maria Union, Kishoreganj Sadar Upazila.

According to local sources, Roja Moni was playing on the road in front of her house on the afternoon of July 6 when she went missing. Despite extensive searches by her family, no trace of her was found until Friday morning, when her body was discovered in the jute field.

Roja Moni’s cousin, Naim Miya, said that the family had been searching for her in various places since she disappeared. On Friday morning, a local resident, who had gone to cut grass near the jute field, noticed a foul smell and discovered the body. The locals then informed the police, who recovered the body.

Abdullah Al Mamun, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kishoreganj Sadar Model Police Station, confirmed the recovery of the body and stated that further legal proceedings are underway.
