Heavy Clashes Erupt Along Thailand-Cambodia Border

Intense fighting has broken out along the Thailand-Cambodia border, according to the Thai military. In the latest update on Friday night (July 25), the Thai army reported widespread clashes in multiple areas.

Heavy artillery exchanges took place in the Chong Bok area between Thai forces and Cambodian troops. In Chong An Ma, Cambodian attacks destroyed a horse sculpture and several surrounding buildings. The Thai military responded by deploying infantry and tanks in Cham Tay, actively working to reclaim the area.

Additionally, the Thai army reported that Cambodia deployed 15 tanks in Chong Ta Thaow, launching artillery strikes from there. In the Khao Phra Wihan area, Thai forces have maintained a strong defensive position, with maximum alertness declared along the border. Regular artillery bombardments and attacks are occurring in the Phu Makua mountain region, with both sides holding strategic positions. Sporadic attacks and counterattacks have also been reported in several other locations. Amid escalating tensions, prospects for negotiations between Thailand and Cambodia are diminishing. Thailand has imposed martial law in eight border provinces and urged villagers to evacuate to safer areas.
