Iran has successfully launched its indigenously developed communication satellite, ‘Nahid-2,’ into space. The launch, overseen by the Iran Space Agency in collaboration with the Iran Space Research Institute and various knowledge-based companies, marks a significant milestone in the advancement of Iran’s space telecommunication technology.
According to *ParsToday*, citing *Fars News Agency*, ‘Nahid-2’ is designed to test Ku-band communication, three-axis attitude control, and two-way communication technologies for the first time. The satellite aims to develop and test telecommunication technologies in Low Earth Orbit (LEO), serving as a platform for future advanced satellites and laying the hardware foundation for upcoming telecommunication satellites.
‘Nahid-2’ was launched from Russia’s Vostochny Cosmodrome using a Soyuz rocket, highlighting successful space diplomacy with Russia and Iran’s ability to overcome Western space-related sanctions. The visible logos of the Iran Space Agency and Space Research Institute on the Soyuz launch vehicle signify Iran’s active participation and international recognition.
