Dhaka, July 19, 2025 – Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami is set to hold a ‘National Conference’ at Suhrawardy Udyan in the capital today, Saturday, starting at 2:00 PM. The event will be chaired by the party’s Ameer, Shafiqur Rahman, with central leaders delivering speeches.
Since Friday evening, leaders and activists of the party began gathering at the venue. From early Saturday morning, processions from various parts of the capital have been heading toward the conference site, with participants chanting slogans for a successful event. Crowds of Jamaat leaders and activists have also been observed on the metro rail.
Jamaat-e-Islami has stated that the conference will focus on key demands, including ensuring a free, fair, neutral, and peaceful election with equal opportunities for all, implementing fundamental reforms, fulfilling the July Charter and Declaration, and holding national elections under a proportional representation (PR) system.
